Dan's Legacy provides therapeutic counselling and life-skills intervention programs to youth battling mental health and addictions issues resulting from childhood trauma and abuse. Every Sunday, we welcome many of our clients to a special community dinner serving freshly prepared, hot meals served by volunteers. All meals are created entirely from surplus food donated by outlets of a national grocery chain. Food insecurity is a reality for many children and youth in our province, and at Dan's Legacy we're working hard to make sure at-risk youth get the support they need. Food is readily available to youth to bring home after the meal.
Volunteers will work under the supervision of staff to assist in serving meals for up to 20 participating youth during program days and maintaining the kitchen area including washing dishes and general kitchen clean up after meal service.
