       GRANT WRITING/Research Volunteer

ASSISTED LIVING SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO is accepting applications for

 a leadership volunteer position within the Fundraising Department at ALSO.

ALSO is seeking community leaders with experience in fundraising and grant proposals.



  • Work as a team member to strengthen existing partnerships
  • Use skills and knowledge to enhance grant requests
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings within business hours (2 hours ~ Once per month)
  • Provide research in office or within your own home office
  • Assist in developing relationships and networking with donors


  • A high level of administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of committee structures and policies is an asset
  • Knowledge of grant writing is an asset
  • Fundraising experience is an asset
  • Ability to communicate the ALSO mission and strategic directives
  • Works well independently and as a co-operative team member
  • Communicates effectively with others
  • Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Possesses exemplary customer service skills
  • Computer skills in all Microsoft applications


  • This is a volunteer role – 8 hours per month
  • Practice using high level skills and give back to our community
  • Retain and learn new skills
  • Gain leadership experience
