'The Journey Neighborhood Centre' is committed to bringing hope and transformation to the Ardglen/Orenda communities, walking alongside children, youth, and families as they take positive steps in their lives. In partnership with CASE (Community Alliance for Support and Empowerment), the Journey will launch a weekly program in Octorber that focuses on teens who are challenged in various ways within the communities that the Centre serves. Known as 'CASE Teen Club', the principal goal of the program is to address challenges affecting teens through building skills and capacities, promoting positive personal development, all within a safe, non-judgmental environment.

Program Description

This is a highly collaborative volunteering opportunity, which includes the following features:

- Plan and facilitate with other co-leaders
- Plan and execute a teen 'drop in' program, and more
- Prepare program content/delivery, materials, and activities
- Build connections with teens (role model, mentor, resource, support)
- Co-ordinate the facilitation of snacks and other aspects of the weekly sessions
- Assist with set-up and clean-up of the program venue

Position Requirements
- You are collaborative, plus capable of mutual cooperation in the development and operation of a community outreach
-Prior experience with teens welcome (NOT REQUIRED)
- Solid English communication skills (ability to engage attentively and conversationally)
- Committed to be a role model, mentor, and support for 'CASE Teen Club' participants
- Organized, yet open minded when it comes to program development/delivery
- Committed to diversity and inclusiveness
- You will need a 'Police Vulnerable Sector Check' (The Centre will supply a letter and application form for the local Police Service)
