Community Engagement / Marketing Volunteer- Family Services
Reports to Manager, Family Services
Location Brampton and Toronto Positions Available
Availability 4+ Hours a week or as available
Commitment 3 months or longer
Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area is a nonprofit housing organization that believes everyone deserves a safe and decent place to live. We mobilize volunteers and communities to help working, lower-income families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. With the help of volunteers, donors, and community partners, we have built close to 400 homes for local families in need of decent shelter, touching the lives of approximately 1,200 children.
Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (GTA)’s Family Services department is looking for a few individuals to help us connect families in need with our homeownership program!
Duties and Responsibilities
With staff guidance, approach organizations, businesses and rental accommodations to promote our program to potential families who may benefit.
Drop pamphlets and put up posters in strategic locations to get the word out to as many families as possible.
Discuss other creative outreach opportunities as they come up!
Qualifications /Skills/Physical Requirements
Friendly and not shy to meet new people.
Able to represent Habitat’s brand positively; passionate about affordable housing.
Some walking required
You will require your own transportation (in some areas public transit may be available, other areas may require access to a vehicle)
