The finer details…

1 – Complete the online registration form by clicking here.

2 – All volunteers that are non-TPS members, age 18 and older regardless if they’ve had one done before will need to complete and clear a VSS check.

Volunteers have two choices for VSS check submission:
a) FREE – Submit a completed form, in person, at any Toronto Police Service division station. The form can be downloaded and printed from the bottom of this page, or obtained in person and completed on site at a station. *if printing at home, forms need to be printed on LEGAL sized paper. A list of Division Stations can be found here. You will need to provide at least 1 piece of government issued photo ID that matches your home address at the station. *note: this option is open to residents from outside of the City of Toronto, but must still be dropped in person. *deadline for TPS VSS submission forms is MARCH 14, 2019

b) If you live outside of the City of Toronto, you may choose to submit for a VSS check from your local police service. This will be done at your own expense.

3 – Your VSS check results will be sent to you, and you only. Once received, send a scan or picture of your cleared VSS check to volunteers@youthgames2019.com.

4 – Upon receipt, you will receive an email from the online volunteer system with information on how to sign up for available volunteer shifts that interest you and work for your availability.

5 – Attend an in-person training session (details to be emailed to you), pertaining to your role during Games.

Important notes: shifts cannot be scheduled until your VSS check has been processed and cleared and will be available on a first come first served basis, so get your paperwork in early! All volunteers scheduled over a meal time will receive a meal while on shift. All volunteers will receive a one of a kind volunteer t-shirt, hat, and recognition gift.
*Volunteers under the age of 18 do not need a VSS check and will be paired with an adult during volunteer shifts.
