Position: Development Officer, Major Gifts and Partnerships

 

Meagan’s Walk:  Creating a Circle of Hope is a community based and volunteer driven organization committed to:

  • sharing a message of hope
  • increasing public awareness about brain tumours and the devastating effects they have on children and their families
  • raising funds for research into paediatric brain tumours.

Since its inception in 2002 Meagan’s Walk has raised more than $5.5 million for ground-breaking research and is having global impact on the care of and outcomes for young brain tumour patients around the world.

Volunteers are crucial to the success of Meagan’s Walk and its daily operations.

 

Meagan’s Walk is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated volunteer for the role of Development Officer, Major Gifts and Partnerships who will strategically grow funding from major gifts and corporate partners in support of and in alignment with Meagan’s Walk mission.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a strategy for major gifts including corporate partnerships, foundation giving, individual major donors, and planned giving.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate/major gift prospects and donors.
  • Maintain and provide reporting on status of outreach and stewardship activities (including contacts identified, completed, results)
  • Attend and actively participate in meeting forums as required.

Qualifications:

  • Related education and/or experience; a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal(including presentation) and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Collaborative working style
  • Ability to influence senior decision makers
  • Strong relationship building and stewardship skills

Reports to: Founder

Time commitment: on-going, 3 - 5 hours per week

Location: Remote/Meagan’s Walk Office/Offsite Meeting Locations
