Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood Community Health Centre (DPNCHC) is a local non profit health care and community support services agency located in Toronto’s West End. Our core values are equity and empowerment, and we strongly believe in each person’s capacity to take responsibility for their own wellbeing. To this end, all of our programs and services are created in partnership with those we serve.

We continuously collect Client Experience Surveys in our Health Centre. We use this data and feedback to improve the way we deliver our services, our adminstration at the Centre, and to inform our program planning.

We aim to distribute these surveys on 5 different days every month during regular program hours. We are seeking volunteers to distribute surveys to our participants and assist them with survey completion.

Commitment:

  • Volunteer for at least 3 survey distribution days in a 6 month period - for at minimum a 3 hour shift per day (9 hours total).

Event Details:

  • Each surveying shift will be 3 hours long.
  • Shifts can be scheduled at the volunteers convenience during regular Centre opening hours (Monday - Wednesday, 9am - 8pm, Thursday 1pm-5pm, Friday 9am - 5pm).
  • Shifts must be scheduled at least one week in advance.
  • Ideally volunteers can commit to on-going assistance.

Required Duties include:

  • Setting up surveying materials
  • Asking clients to complete the survey
  • Keeping survey materials and log book organized and up to date
  • Assisting participants with questions about completing surveys
  • Putting away surveying materials at the end of the shift and delivering completed surveys to the Manager

Optional Duties:

  • Assisting with analysis of survey data
  • Report writing for internal and external requirements

Desired experience:

  • Community engagement or customer engagement
  • Survey distribution or completing surveys

Additional Experience

  • Quantitative data analysis
  • Quality improvement planning & report writing

Desired skills:

  • Ability to perform moderate lifting
  • Conversational proficiency in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, or Arabic highly beneficial
  • Comfortable talking to the public and communicating with new people
  • Ability to work independently

This position is not compensated, however, we are happy to provide volunteer reference letter upon request or sign off on any volunteer hour documentation.
