About the Organization

The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre (TGHC) is a 119-bed facility located in downtown Toronto. TGHC provides medically complex, and specialized care and services to those individuals who require Complex Continuing Care, Post-Acute Care Rehabilitation and Palliative Care. The hospital is recognized for its commitment to clinical excellence and a compassionate approach to patient centered care. We serve primarily an adult and geriatric patient population.

About the Music Program Role

We are currently recruiting musicians to perform on the patient care units, join our Saturday Impromptu music group and at our Sunday chapel services held for patients. Volunteers in this role play music on the units, perform concert on saturday and hymns/ other selection of music (often classical) as an interlude before and after the service. Requirement for this role include being an accomplished pianist/ guitarist, ability to read music and be able to accompany a vocalist. You should have a comfort level to perform in front of others and to interact with patients in a hospital setting.

This role requires a commitment on weekdays ansd saturday (afternoons), and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon approximately one to two shifts per week.
