Who are we?
We're Do a Barrel Roll (http://www.doabarrelroll.ca), a new registered Canadian non-profit dedicated to driving positive social change through gaming of all types. We run on a rotating thematic cycle, focusing our programming and projects on a particular subject every few years. Until 2021, Do a Barrel Roll is targeting its efforts on Community and Belonging.
What are we looking for?
In order to match our growth as an organisation, we are looking for an experienced, volunteer grant researcher and writer to hunt down funding opportunities that match our objectives and profile. Simply, your role with us will be two parts: comprehensive research and assessment using available public and accessible databases, websites, and information feeds of applicable fundraising opportunities, both formalized and ad hoc; and, the writing of crystal clear, error free, attention capturing grant applications on behalf of Do a Barrel Roll. On the former, you would be asked to develop and maintain a comprehensive database of opportunities, including key contact points.
In particular, you should be comfortable or familiar with potential partner private sector actors, grant makers, and other philanthropic opportunities from one or more of the following geographical regions:
This role is a remote and volunteer. We ask for a flexible commitment of approximately 1-2 hours per week. The position includes no remuneration.
