Description:                                                                                                                                                                                         The Mississauga Food Bank is looking for committed, reliable and hardworking volunteers to assist our truck driver with daily food deliveries to various community organizations.  


  • Be ready at the start time of the shift 9:00 am
  • Complete the full shift from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Wednesday to 6:00 pm)
  • Assist truck driver with loading and unloading food donations to and from our warehouse
  • Assist truck driver with the picking up of donations from food drive locations across Mississauga
  • Bring your own lunch and bottle of water


  • Reliable and committed
  • Ability to follow directions of transportation staff  
  • Ability to lift 20 to 30 pounds
  • Ability to operate a dolly, bend and carry boxes
  • Ability to work with a variety of people in the community
  • Must dress appropriately for the weather conditions
  • Minimum age: 18 years old


Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator

Health and Safety Considerations:

Must wear suitable close-toed shoes at all times. May wish to bring your own gloves.
Must follow health and safety guidelines
Must not use equipment


  • You will learn about our City’s shelters, Mississauga’s food programs and know that you have contributed to feeding our hungry neighbours.
  • Your assistance will allow The Mississauga  Food Bank to deliver food orders more efficiently to our member agencies.

Time Commitment:   9:00 am to 5:00 pm. One day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) a week.
