SEEKING VOLUNTEER PHYSICIANS AND NURSE PRACTITIONERS
For 20 years, our community volunteer clinic has treated medically uninsured patients with the help of a
team of volunteer health care professionals. We are looking for physicians trained in family or
community medicine, and primary care nurse practitioners to join our roster of volunteers.
Our walk-in clinics run every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5-9PM, with 2-3 volunteer MDs
and/or NPs on each evening. Our patient volumes range between 25-45 per evening, and we see patients
of all ages for a wide variety of urgent or minor care complaints, management of chronic conditions, and
well-patient primary care. We partner with a number of local specialists (physicians, midwives,
multidisciplinary teams) to connect patients to specialist care when their needs extend beyond the scope
of our clinic.
We are looking for dedicated and excellent practitioners who are passionate about bridging the health
care gap for these uninsured patients. The CCRIHC team unites around the desire for every new Canadian
to receive health care when they need it, without judgment of their circumstances, regardless of their
immigration status or their ability to pay. Clinics are also staffed with volunteer nurses, administrative
support, and a patient care navigator, and are run in a modern, well-equipped family medicine clinic.
