Relay For Life Video Introduction

There is a wonderful opportunity to create a meaningful event in your community that celebrates those who have lived, are living, and moving past cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life event brings neighbors, friends, and community influencers together, united by the common goal of creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer. The experience of cheering on survivors, walking the track, and joining in a range of trackside activities at Relay For Life (RFL) creates an unforgettable evening!

Community Engagement Chair

As the Community Engagement Chair, you are creative, innovative, and comfortable with public speaking. With your demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team, you will partner with the Event Experience Chair to provide leadership to the committee. Your goal will be to engage the community and support the committee members who report to you. Your portfolio will include participant recruitment, survivor engagement, marketing/social media, fundraising/sponsorship, and other approaches to engage and increase involvement in the event. This opportunity provides you with a platform to use your skills and increase your competencies.

Your committee will meet regularly over the course of the year, with increasing commitments as the event approaches. Each committee member will have their own portfolio but will share a passion for the mission: to provide the opportunity for those affected by cancer to come together and draw support while raising funds for critical, life-saving cancer research and programs.
