In Home Volunteers provide practical, emotional, social, and spiritual support to individuals with a palliative diagnosis within their place of residence in Brampton or Mississauga.

We ask that In Home Volunteers:

  • complete a vulnerable sector police check
  • supply 2 written references and 1 phone reference
  • have an interview with the Coordinator of Volunteers

We are looking for In Home Volunteers who:

  • are caring and compassionate
  • respect and adhere to boundaries
  • are reliable
  • respect and maintain confidentiality
  • have excellent communication skills
  • are non-judgemental/non bias
  • have the ability to problem solve
  • are able to work as a member of the interdisciplinary team

  • 30 hours of palliative care training geared to volunteers

  • free educational workshops and opportunities on an ongoing basis

Next Palliative care volunteer training sessions will be:

Mississauga - Saturdays 9am to 4:30pm one time a week from October 19 to November 16, 2019

Etobicoke - Wednesdays 6pm to 9pm one time a week from September 11 to November 13, 2019

Oakville - Mondays 12:30pm to 3:30pm one time a week from September 16 to November 25, 2019
