Assist The Mississauga Food Bank, efficiently and effectively unpack the fresh food pallets and do a cursory check of the quality of the product.  


Time Commitment: Friday morning from 9:30 to 12:00.

Location: 3121 Universal Drive Mississauga



  • Follow directions from the warehouse staff
  • Familiarize the volunteers with our safety policy
  • Unpack the fresh pallets of vegetables
  • Do a cursory check of the quality of the product
  • Separate good product from the product that needs to be composted
  • Label finished pallets in order of quality
  • Keep sorting table area clean and tidy


  • A positive, warm and friendly demeanour
  • Must be able to work quickly as a part of a team
  • Mature and reliable
  • Must follow directions of the warehouse staff
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Ability to lift 30 - 50 lbs
  • Must be available to commit for every Friday morning for at least 6 months

Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator


Health and Safety:

  • Due to health and safety regulations, volunteers are not permitted to use equipment
  • Closed-toed shoes must be worn at all times
  • Earphones are not permitted in the warehouse
  • Phone calls are permitted in the volunteer lounge only


  • Participate in providing quality fresh food to your hungry neighbours
