Become a Vision Mate and assist a visually impaired person in your neighbourhood for a couple hours a week with activities such as reading, organizing, accompanying on errands/walks, or social visiting.

Scheduling is very flexible, so long as visit times are mutually convenient for both the volunteer and the client.

Vision mates must be reliable, patient, responsible and friendly. You either have very strong English skills or are willing to volunteer in your native language. Vision mates must be 18 or older. We ask for a minimum 6 month commitment for this role.

We are looking for volunteers to assist clients all around the Lower Mainland, especially for the following areas: VAncouver (Champlain Heights), Burnaby (South Burnaby), New Westminster, South Surrey/White Rock.

If you are interested in this role or would like to learn more, contact Melisa Tang Choy, Coordinator, Volunteer Services at melisa.tangchoy@cnib.ca.
