Events Volunteer

Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest and only all-Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For more than 30 years, Children’s Wish and our volunteers have worked tirelessly to grant over 25,000 children and their families a heartfelt wish– each is as unique as the child making it.

Does the role of the Events Volunteer match your experience, skills and interests?

Children’s Wish Foundation are always looking for volunteers who are passionate about our cause and mission. An Events Volunteer will act as a representative of Children’s Wish Foundation and contribute to the execution of the BC and Yukon Chapter events in a variety of ways including:

  • Selling raffle tickets
  • Running kids colouring and craft stations
  • Raising awareness for Children’s Wish and sharing our mission
  • Dressing up as our mascot, “Roary”
  • Assisting with silent and live auctions
  • Registration for golf and other events
  • Running a “hole in one” challenge at a golf tournament
  • Running challenges at our team-building event, Heroes Challenge 

Skills and Experience:                                                                                                                                                                        

  • Excited about the Children's Wish cause and mission
  • Comfortable working as part of a team, and in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and comfortable working with and engaging various event participants
  • Previous experience handling money if designated to support event fundraising activities (such as raffle or silent auction)
  • Previous volunteering experience is valuable but not required

Time Commitment:

  • Hours range from event to event, and typically range from 4 to 6 hour shifts
  • A mixture of daytime, evening and weekend availability for various events
  • There is no minimum volunteering requirement, however we encourage volunteers to get involved as much as they can!

  • Princess and Superhero Party - Sunday June 9th in Langley
  • Golf Tournament - Friday June 21st in North Vancouver
  • Golf Tournament - Tuesday August 13th in Surrey 
  • Heroes ChallengeFriday September 27th in the Vancouver Area

As an Events Volunteer you will gain the opportunity to work in a team environment and impact the power of a wish, all while building new connections and having fun!
