Chinese Community Policing Centre (CCPC) is recruiting Community Outreach Ambassadors. Do you want to raise safety awareness and promote outreach events in Metro Vancouver? In particular, through our Safety Talk workshops, you may interact with older people who are from less advantaged backgrounds.



  • To increase community safety awareness and support our Centre by outreaching to the public about our programs and services


Essential Job Functions

  • Attend community fairs and events of the CCPC in Metro Vancouver
  • Work with staff to facilitate activities through outreach initiatives
  • Help set up, staff or dismantle display booth, and ensure the cleanliness of it
  • Provide information about our Centre’s service to the public and hand out flyers or giveaway
  • Promptly responding to enquiries and supporting attendees; direct unanswerable questions to staff
  • Run occasional errands



  • 18 years or older
  • Proficiency in the English language. Knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin language will be an asset
  • Adopting a positive and respectful communication style
  • Reliable, punctual and non-judgmental
  • Comfortable working with diverse populations
  • Successful completion of our Volunteer Orientation
  • Ability to attend an interview and obtain Vancouver Police Information Check
  • Provision of 3 formal references (We suggest you to obtain permission and their email contact from them before submitting the application. We only contact your professional references via email. They should know you more than 6 months, e.g. your current/previous employer, teacher, settlement worker or landlord. We do NOT accept your friends, family or classmates.)
  • Abide by the CCPC Volunteer Confidentiality Affirmation, Code of Conduct, and General Policy as well as any project/program-specific protocols and procedures


Time Commitment

  • Minimum of 6-month commitment, occasionally check and respond to emails
  • Under probation for 3 outreach events within 6 months



  • Letter of Reference available upon request after completion of 6-month volunteer commitment
  • Learn the overall aspects of community outreach and event coordination
  • Satisfaction in efforts to help people seeking community resources
  • Develop communication, public speaking & leadership skills
  • Meet new friends and expand your social network
  • Receive ongoing staff support and training opportunities


Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee you a volunteer placement at the CCPC. While we try to place every prospective volunteer, management reserves the right to reject applicants who do not meet our current needs, requirements, suitability, and/or placement criteria. Our screening process can sometimes take several months or only a few weeks, depending on background check and availability of your references. We thank you for your patience.
