**OPPORTUNITY IN THE NON-PROFIT AND MENTAL HEALTH SECTOR**
MINA (“Minds in Need of Attention”) is calling for young creatives who are passionate about mental health! We are looking for youth (aged 15 - 24) performers to share their stories/experiences with mental health through a ~5 min creative piece of their choice. Performers will play a key role in the first part of MINA’s launch “Listen Silent”-- a community-informed, preventative mental care program that will involve (1) an assembly (2) a parent/teacher education workshop and (3) peer mentorship.
Performers can expect to gain:
✓ a new network of individuals in the public, non-profit, education, and healthcare sector
✓ a safe and open platform to express their story
✓ an honorarium to thank performers for their time, courage and creativity
✓ a letter of reference from the organization’s Founder or Chair
✓ volunteer hours (for all high school-aged performers)
Performances will take place in Hamilton/GTHA during the first week of October (mental health week) in front of high school students and school staff. In addition to the assembly day, performers are expected to commit to some rehearsals on dates to be decided.
Professional or volunteer experience in performing/digital arts preferred but not required. Please contact “Iana Lanceta” at email@example.com and include your full name and age, intended performance style (singing, dance, spoken word, etc.), and a short cover letter on why you are interested in this program.
