March of Dimes Canada is seeking volunteers!
The DesignAbility Program connects individuals in need with volunteers to offer custom built solutions and modifications to the everyday challenges that can be faced by people living with disabilities. The program has various chapters throughout Ontario.
DesignAbility has an exciting opportunity for creative, handy individuals looking for an opportunity to use their skills. MODC is currently seeking volunteer Fabricators for the program. The Fabricator takes the lead on the creative process of designing and building the custom solution requested by the client. The Fabricator is expected to attend monthly Chapter meetings to obtain projects for the program. The Fabricator is also responsible for meeting with the client to gather important data such as measurements and dimensions, as well as the entirety of the construction of the project requested. Additional follow-up and modifications may be required.
Location: Location will vary based on active projects and program needs.
