|The Regent Park Film Festival||Short term (Less than 6 months)||2019-06-12||2019-08-16|
We are Toronto’s longest running free community film festival. We are dedicated to showcasing local and international independent works relevant to people from all walks of life, with a focus on inviting those of us from low income and public housing communities. The films we present break stereotypes and show that no one place or person has just one story.
Weekly outdoor movies in Regent Park
Our summer screening series runs every Wednesday from July 10 – August 21st. Now in its sixth year Under the Stars has grown into Regent Park’s largest summer community event. The shifts are scheduled from 530pm - 11pm. We ask that you are available to volunteer for a minimum of THREE out of SIX screening dates.
July 10th - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
July 17th - Meditation Park
July 24th - Our People Will Be Healed
July 31st - Life of Pi
August 7 - Your Name
August 14th - Black Panther
August 21st - *Raindate*
We show widely loved films that prominently feature Indigenous, Black and People of Colour on screen. We offer a pre-show before the film each week with family friendly activities that change week to week.
