LetsStopAIDS is Canada's youth-HIV charity that inspires youth leadership for HIV prevention. Founded in 2004, LetsStopAIDS focuses on HIV education and prevention through positive youth engagement and leadership. Whether it is in rural South Africa or urban cities across Canada, LetsStopAIDS is dedicated to creating a global network of youth-HIV peer educators. LetsStopAIDS is a registered Canadian charity, and has signed onto the GIPA principles.  Our projects have been commended at several events, including Bill Clinton and Bill Gates at the XVI International AIDS Conference and through various national media outlets such as CTV, CBC, MuchMusic, National Post, Metro and hundreds of local news publications.

LetsStopAIDS has an exciting 12-month volunteer opportunity for a confident, results-driven professional to join our development team. Under the direction of the VP of Development, the Development lead will be support the implementation of LetsStopAIDS' development strategy. The primary focus of this role will be managing various projects that will advance and meet Let’s Stop Aid’s development needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow a portfolio of current and prospective donors and corporate partnerships
  • Manage relationships and stewardship of donors
  • Grant sourcing, research and application
  • Face-to-face donor/prospect meetings
  • Assist in team goal setting
  • Develop new content material
  • Collaboration with cross teams to ensure projects are implemented and executed
  • Provide donor stewardship and donor cultivation support during Let’s Stop Aid’s events

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated effective relationship building, networking and listening skills.
  • Passion for philanthropy.
  • Demonstrated awareness and understanding of the donor relationship cycle (identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship)
  • Ability to clearly articulate the mission and priorities of Let’s Stop aids.
  • Strong sense of commitment and accountability for the roles and responsibilities of the position
