  • Operate Point of Sale cash system and ring in sales
  • Handle cash and verify float before and after each shift
  • Assist customers in a professional manner and answer questions regarding merchandise.
  • Maintain cleanliness of cash area and vicinity
  • Potentially assist with pricing merchandise
  • Efficiently keeping customer line moving
  • Commit to scheduled shifts
  • Call supervisor when unable to make a scheduled shift at the store or to notify when planning to be away.
  • Build positive relationships with other volunteers and staff.


  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Commit to a scheduled shift to work at the store depending on need.
  • Call Operations Lead or Designate when unable to make a scheduled shift at the store.
  • Work within the scope of practice as outlined in the volunteer training manual and policy and procedure manual.
  • Build positive relationships with the team
  • Enjoy working with a variety of age groups.
  • Appreciated but not required: A willingness to provide mentorship for youth working at the store.
  • Expected to respect and accept the diverse group of people in store (customers, volunteers, staff)

Time Commitment

  • Minimum 4 hour shift per week
  • Open 5-6 days a week
  • Weekday and weekends
