Come help our elderly residents enjoy a weekly game of carpet bowling! Thursdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Little Mountain Place, volunteers assist our elders and the leisure staff with the preparations, clean up , encouraging and supporting elders, and enhancing the environment through volunteer participation in a Bowling game.

Little Mountain Place is a non-profit care giving organization, providing care for 117 elders requiring residential care, including special care for 26 residents. We provide holistic care for the aged, frail and physically challenged, in the spirit of compassion and with respect to diversity.


  • Assist with activity set up as directed by leisure staff
  • Invite and assist elders to and from activity area
  • Engage elders, and enhance the social atmosphere through volunteer involvement
  • Assist elders and leisure staff during activity as needed
  • Assist with clean up and moving tables and chairs back into place


  • Able to assist elders who have physical and/or cognitive challenges
  • Physically capable of pushing elders in wheelchairs and carrying out physical tasks as required
  • Able to communicate well in verbal English
  • Friendly, reliable, patient and respectful
  • Able to follow direction and enjoy teamwork
  • Willingness to listen, learn and develop effective ways to interact with elders
  • Sincere interest in the social needs of elders

  • All volunteers must submit an application form found on our website  
  • You will be required to attend an in-person orientation
  • All volunteers are required to complete a criminal record check (free of charge)
  • All volunteers for this role must be 16 years or older
