The BC Council for Families is looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting and strengthening families and family service professionals in BC to join our volunteer board.

Board members are committed to the Council’s strategic growth, and are the fiduciary for all decisions made on behalf of the Council, including strategic planning, fundraising and development, finance and legal matters.

The requirements for directors are:

  • Membership with the BC Council for Families
  • A contribution to the Council
  • A commitment to attend Board meetings (four per year, including one face-to-face meeting in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting) and participation in at least one committee
  • A willingness to represent the Council on the local or regional level
  • A willingness to bring strategic ideas to the Board
  • A passion for the quality of life for families in BC
  • A commitment to the Council’s Strategic Plan
  • Some specific skills that are sought: adult education, marketing, fundraising and development, finance and accounting and legal
  • Previous board experience with governance is an asset

About the BC Council for Families

The BC Council for Families is a registered non-profit, charitable organization whose purpose is to serve professionals, support families and strengthen communities. For over 40 years BCCF has been developing and delivering family support resources and training programs to professionals across the province that focus on prevention, inclusiveness and building skills and confidence.
