Become a volunteer at the Chinatown Festival on and before August 10, 2019!


The Annual Vancouver Chinatown Festival would not be possible without the support and leadership of volunteers. We are looking for volunteers for various positions before and during the event!


We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

Main Stage

  • Coordinate with VIP Guests and Performers
  • Coordinate with camera and media personals
  • Organise and prepare props and performing materials



  • On-site reception and registration
  • Arrange and assign roles in needed areas
  • Assist with food and light refreshments for volunteers


Cultural Area

  • Interact with visitors & tourists
  • Manage the Wheel of Fortune, prize giveaways, flyers
  • Manage the displays (Pedicab, Rickshaw, Wedding Sedan, etc.)


Kids Corner

  • Maintain crowds
  • Manage mini-games and activities
  • Ensure proper safety and maintenance


Day Market

  • Manage the surrounding area
  • Direct and coordinate with exhibitors
  • Allocating required resources to designated areas


Street Fest

  • Manage and coordinate the evening activities


Crowd Control Crew

  • Allocate and restock resources
  • Crowd control and street maintenance
  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all



  • Schedule is flexible
  • Enhance communication skills
  • Learn and gain new skills and experience
  • Meet and interact with a diverse community
  • Receive a Certificate and Letter of Appreciation
  • Receive complementary food and refreshments
