The Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society is actively interviewing for board members.

For the position of President we are looking for someone who has

* Strong Leadership Skills

* Ability to understand and manage fiscal affairs, as well as generate revenue

* Flexible to address emerging issues and provide support where needed

* Outstanding presentation and communication skills and the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokeperson, relation builder, and fundraiser

* Strong commitment to the professional development of staff; successful track record of recruiting and retaining a diverse team

* Excellent coalition building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consenus amongst differing opinions

* Prior non-profit experience would be an asset

* Significant board development,fundraising, marketing/branding and fiscal management experience would be helpful

* Would be an accent to have some type of personal relationship with an individual with Down Syndrome
