Summerville Family Health Team (SFHT) is seeking a Board Member!

August 2019

The Summerville Family Health Team (SFHT) is seeking to recruit a new Volunteer Board Member who has a passion for healthcare and who wants to bring perspective of the Mississauga community and its unique primary care needs.
The SFHT is an integrated, interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines who strive to deliver a coordinated continuum of care for patients across their lifespan, from neonatal to end-of-life. The SFHT’s goal is to be a vital partner to the health and well-being of our patients and the community we serve. SFHT is a not for profit organization that receives funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and provides primary healthcare services to more than 50,000 patients across five clinical practice sites in Mississauga.

SFHT is looking for individuals who share our vision of a healthy community, who live or work in our community and who have the ability to participate in the governance of the SFHT. The ideal candidate will have the following skills: strategic planning, program development, business management. Previous non-profit board experience (especially in healthcare) would be an asset.

Board members are appointed for a two year term (for a maximum of three terms). The term begins in September 2019. Currently Board meetings are held monthly with a break during July and August, and Board committees are ad hoc. Board Members are expected to read board materials in advance of board meetings and to come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions.

If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors of this dynamic healthcare organization, please submit your expression of interest and resume to Kelly Martin at, by September 30, 2019.
