The Volunteer’s Role

Are you passionate about supporting local organizations make lasting change in their communities?

As a Social Enterprise Advisor, you will support Jamaica National Foundation in building a robust framework for all social enterprise initiatives across Jamaica. Jamaica National has created a framework- Social Enterprise Jamaica-(SEJA) to govern and strengthen the growth of social enterprises on the island.   Overall, you will support JN to further develop their social enterprise framework-SEJA to be a support system for all social enterprises across Jamaica.

Your role:

-Business Plan - Conduct research, complete costings & refine the existing business plan for a Jamaican social enterprise hub/network entity

-Strategic Partnerships - Propose a portfolio of relevant stakeholders (local & international) who could support the goals of the social enterprise entity

- Launch & Start-up– Support strategy & implementation actions designed to ensure a sustainable networking hub is launched and fully operational

-Strategy & Operational Review & Coaching – Support the building of a strong team & operational framework that is well aligned to the goals of the entity so as to ensure a sustainable operation

Essential Academic Qualifications:

- University degree in Enterprise Development, Business Management, Entrepreneurship or related studies

Essential Professional Background:

- Proven track record of successfully developing/managing social enterprises

- At least 3 years work experience in the private sector in business development

- Strong proven experience developing business plans & complex budgets

- Excellent Managerial, Communication and Marketing skills
