|Description & Details|
Do you love being outdoors?
Do you want to learn about local food?
Want to meet a great bunch of people and be part of a wonderful community initiative?
Then the Withrow Park Farmers' Market is the place for you!
Who we are:
The Withrow Park Farmers' Market has been a SATURDAY morning outdoor community hub for 13 years! It is a place where Ontario farmers and local entrepreneurs share sustainable food with Toronto's eaters. To learn more visit us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
We are looking for enthusiastic Parking Guide Volunteers to help out on Saturdays at the Withrow Park Farmers' Market. Parking Guide Volunteers are responsible for managing vehicular traffic into the park during set-up and/or load-out, directing people to the appropriate parking areas, allowing only farmers into designated parking spots, and enforces parking plans established by our parking permit. This role is best suited for someone 16 years of age and older. Bonus if you have experience driving!
The market runs every Saturday Starting June 1 until October 12, 2019. Ideally we are looking for volunteers who can commit to 3 markets or more over the season! The volunteer shifts for this role are short shifts (only 1.5hrs), but this is a very important role! Volunteers are also welcome to stay longer if they are interested in gaining more hours or helping in different capacities.
- Morning set-ups: 7:30am to 9am
- Afternoon load-out: 12:30pm to 2pm (although we usually finish by 1:30pm)
The Withrow Park Farmers' Market is located on the North/East corner of Withrow Park (next to the playground).
