A diagnosis of childhood cancer is a big, scary swerve in the road. It changes life in an instant. For affected kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams are left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school. Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium offer a different journey, where kids with cancer can just be kids; where families connect with a community of strength and support when they need it the most.
We are much more than a summer camp—we offer the social cure for childhood cancer, delivering fun, friendship, and community to kids and families three hundred and sixty-five days a year, all across Ontario.
Our camp-style programs reach two thousand kids battling cancer every day of the year at SickKids and other paediatric cancer centres in Ontario. Kids and families can join community programs closer to home, or attend overnight camp, all at no cost to them.
Our thirty-five year tradition of year-round social support is powered by the passion of two thousand volunteers. As a privately funded charity that receives no annual core funding from the government or hospital partners, our organization is entirely dependent on generous supporters to deliver our life-changing programs. Cancer changes a child’s life. So does camp. And so can you.
