Summer Student Volunteer Program

St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto, offers a Summer Student Volunteer program for students looking to volunteer in a health care environment. Students must be able to volunteer 3 to 5 times per week (each shift is 3 – 4 hours) from early May 2020 to end August 2020 for post-secondary students and first week of July 2020 to end August 2020 for high school students. Home Caregiver Support Program Unit Coordinator (volunteer)

The overall goal of the Home Caregiver Support Program is to provide information and assistance to non-professional caregivers who are providing care for family members or friends suffering from chronic or terminal illnesses within the confines of their own home. The Home Caregiver Support Program Unit Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Home Caregiver Support Unit at the branch level. Primary duties include recruitment of volunteer facilitators, promoting free training courses to participants, and scheduling courses.

Supply Educational Resource Worker

Educational Resource Workers (ERWs) work as collaborative team members to facilitate the inclusion of students with differing abilities/diverse learning needs. The Educational Resource Worker is assigned to a Family of Schools and is accountable to the School Principal and/or Designate. Actual duties are assigned as determined by students needs as per Ministry of Education regulations and Board policies, procedures and practices.

Volunteer Direct Support Worker/Community Visitor

St. Joseph’s Hospice provides compassionate care and support to people living with a terminal illness, their family, caregivers, and those grieving the loss of a loved one. Care is provided at no cost in our 10-suite residence, wellness centre, and in the community, and is only possible thanks to the generous support we receive from donors who help us raise the $1.4 million needed each year.

In-home Hospice Volunteer
