Respite Worker Position for Rotary Respite House

Family Services Perth-Huron is recruiting a casual, part-time respite worker for weekends and occasional days at the Rotary Respite House. This wheelchair accessible home located in Stratford provides respite to care givers of children with special needs. A Human Services degree or diploma with a minimum of 1-year experience working with children with developmental and/or physical disabilities is required.

We are a non-profit Child Care Centre looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors.

EPIC – Swimming

Participation in swimming can promote growth for individuals on the spectrum in many areas including skill development, social skills and confidence. We have teamed up with Canyon Swim Club to facilitate this fun and engaging program. Following the Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton philosophy, participants will be supported through the SCERTS (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, and Transaction Supports) model.

EPIC – Active Discovery

Active Discovery is a structured, play-based program aimed at providing children and youth increased opportunity to participate in physical activity according to their abilities and preferences. The surrounding environment will be set up to encourage children and youth engage in games, engage with different equipment, and play common gym games with additional supports such as visuals, timers, etc. Our program focuses on proportionate expectations and support resulting in success!

The Relief Childcare Worker is temporarily responsible for assisting the Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE’s) in the implementation of the Early Learning Program in accordance with the goals of the department and the overall Association.

Registered Early Childhood Educator

Position Summary
The Registered Early Childhood Educator is responsible for:
 Developing and implementing early learning programs for children ranging from 0 to 6 years of age.
 Following/Implementing an emergent curriculum incorporating ELECT framework and Aboriginal framework.
 Delivering early learning services to parents and children, such as literacy and interactive learning activities, to help ensure that children are ready to learn and to make it easier for them to transition to school.
 Planning, developing and implementing programs that contain stimulating activities for preschool/kindergarten children, including field trips.
 Promoting physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being in all activities.
 Providing support to children in their daily routines.
 Providing supportive service to families and their children.
 Maintaining accurate reporting, statistical data and documentation of children’s development and interactions.
 Communicating daily with colleagues and parents.
 Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
 Assisting with classroom housekeeping.
 Completing general administrative tasks, such as playground inspections, fire drills and health and sanitizing reports.
 Ensuring that the legislated health and safety standards are maintained at all times.
 Representing NCFST throughout the Toronto Early Years Network.
 Making oneself available for location reassignment to any NCFST Early Learning Program within the GTA.
