Events and Communications Administrator

The Events and Communications Administrator position is responsible for organizing events and forums to support the objectives related to outreach, research, program delivery and evaluation for the Essential Skills for Employment project. The position will also support logistical organization for events, internal and external communication, online community building and stakeholder outreach.

ABOUT YWCA ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
The Essential Skills for Employment project is a national four-year initiative designed to improve the awareness of adult learning, literacy, and essential skills among partners, stakeholders and employers, as well at the application and integration of literacy and essential skills into their programs and activities. The project is currently in its third phase, and aims to build on the promising practices and lessons learned that emerged from YWCA Toronto’s 2010 Essential Skills for Employment project, and the 2019 YWCA Building Sustainable Futures project. This project aims to expand its reach within the collaborator communities through various knowledge exchange initiatives, in order to build capacity among collaborators, partners, employers, and other stakeholders who are supporting vulnerable communities to gain access and engage in the workforce.

Special Events Volunteer Coordinator

Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin is inviting applications for a Special Events Volunteer Coordinator position. The is a 7.5 hours per week, contract position starting March 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2020.
Reporting to the Fundraising and Events Officer, the Events Volunteer Coordinator will support the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Ride Don’t Hide fundraising initiative. Ride Don’t Hide is a community-based bike ride and walk for mental health where participants sign up to promote mental wellness and raise money to support mental health treatment and awareness.
