Committee Chair for Alzheimer Society of Toronto Walk for Alzheimer’s

The Walk for Alzheimer’s Committee Chair (or Co-Chairs) will work with the guidance and support of Alzheimer Society Toronto’s Community Events Manager to lead a Walk on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Supported by a Walk Committee, the Chair is responsible for the successful staging of the Walk event in your community. The Chair has a primary role in achieving fundraising goals by recruiting, leading and motivating committee members.

Cooking Group Volunteer (2)

The CCHC Cooking Club is similar to a collective kitchen or community kitchen. It is a group of people who meet weekly to cook, eat together, socialize and take home leftovers.

Help participants during kitchen activities to develop lifelong skills that can be transferred to other members/groups in the community.

SCREEN Core Volunteer (10)

SCREEN delivers its services directly to communities throughout the Champlain region; the volunteer position is designed to offer hands-on experience in the diverse field of community health. It offers volunteers an opportunity to try out different roles, and interact with people from a diversity of cultures and professions in various community settings.
SCREEN provides chronic disease risk assessment screening, education, and referrals for people who are at high risk of chronic disease. A team of Core Volunteers is needed to support SCREEN’s community organizing, network building, and chronic disease screening work.

We’re looking for support during our Build-a-Bike program and Drop-In Hours and are hosting some Volunteer Orientation Workshops.  You don’t need to be a mechanic to volunteer with Charlie’s – you’ll learn a lot as you go!

Volunteer at Canadian Parents for French Breakfast at Parliament event

Canadian Parents for French is hosting its annual Breakfast on the Hill event to promote and further bilingual education across Canada. The event will take place on April 23 at Parliament. Volunteers are needed for pre-event prep, assistance during the event, then to act as guides taking our guests to meet with their representatives and members of Parliament. Volunteers will need to be available from 7am to 3pm on the 23rd of April. There will be a training and pre-event prep session on the 22nd in the afternoon.
