Counsellor, Mental Health and Substance Use, Reaching Out to Women

The Reaching Out to Women (ROW) Program provides trauma-informed mental health and/or substance use counselling to women who are considered vulnerable and are accessing shelters, drop-in centres, or who are involved in the justice system. Counselling is offered at host sites through the Jean Tweed Centre’s partnerships with Elizabeth Fry Toronto and the Barbra Schlifer Clinic. ROW also provides trauma-informed capacity building at host sites and within the mental health and substance use sectors.

Indigenous Counsellor & Case Manager, Supportive Housing

Supportive Housing is a Jean Tweed and YWCA Elm Centre partnership program in a residential complex located in the heart of downtown Toronto. We provide on-site, individualized support to 135 women living in the residential complex. This program is part of a larger initiative to increase the health and social outcomes for women living with severe and persistent mental health concerns and concurrent substance use/mental health concerns, by providing stable housing and support services. This full time, permanent Indigenous Counsellor & Case Manager will work primarily in the Bay/Dundas area. Staff will be required to visit tenant’s apartment units and may therefore be exposed to second hand smoke. There will be evening and weekend hours, as well as on-call responsibilities.
