• Provides quality care to all children in a licensed childcare environment
  • Adheres to the Child Care & Early Years Act (CCEYA) and O. Reg. 137/15, How Does Learning Happen?, the City of Toronto’s Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), and our Centre’s policies and procedures
  • Actively engages with children and ensures the supervision and safety of children at all times
  • Plans and implements a consistent child-centred program
  • Completes required documentation of children’s development and interactions
  • Ensures positive, professional communication with families
  • Working cooperatively with colleagues in a fast-paced program
  • Contributing to the ordering of equipment, supplies, furniture, etc., for the program as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or Bachelor of Education (OCT) in good standing
  • Possess a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certificate
  • Be willing to undergo a vulnerable sector criminal reference check
  • Be able to provide a record of up-to-date immunizations/health record
  • Experience working with children in a childcare environment
  • Possess initiative and passion for working with children in a licensed childcare setting
  • Be able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients, colleagues, Centre Management, the Board of Directors, our host school’s staff, and other community partners
  • Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold
  • Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping
  • Only those individuals legally entitled to work in Canada will be considered


  • Please be aware that opening shifts can start as early as 7:00am and closing shifts can end as late as 6:00pm
  • Be able to participate in scheduled staff meetings and other special meetings/events conducted in the evenings
  • Programs are closed on Saturday and Sunday
  • Before & After programs operate all day during P.A. Days, March Break, and Summer Break


  • $22.34 to $28.16 per hour depending on qualifications
